It is Djanikian's sense of precision about distances, his awareness, his awareness of the riskiness of engaging nostalgia, his willingness to step beyond cleverness, which makes his new book so valuable.
GREGORY DJANIKIAN was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and emigrated to the United States when he was eight years old. His three collections of poetry are The Man in the Middle, Falling Deeply into America, and About Distance. He directs the creative writing program at the University of Pennsylvania, and lives with his wife and children outside Philadelphia.
