Barbara Reichmuth Geisler is a native San Franciscan and an award-winning author of historical mysteries. She holds both baccalaureate and master's degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. She previously served as the head librarian for the San Francisco Performing Arts Library and Museum. She lives in northern California with her husband, who is an Episcopal priest.
