This is the second poetry collection by the Saudi poetAbdullah Al-Washmi, following his earlier collection TheSea and the Stormy Woman, which was his first. The poet'sexperience in these two works represents a poetic journeythat combines the traditional Khalili and modern taf'¿l¿(metrical) styles. He presented his poems in various forms,including the short poem and the very short poem, formsthat continued to appear in his later collections.A number of the poems in this collection illustrate boththe poet's own experience and that of his generation ofSaudi poets during that literary period
