Here I was pastor of a church of several thousand people in the city of Chicago, one of the largest and most exciting metropolitan centers in the world. I was having to conduct several services each Sunday in order to get everyone in, and we had a very delicate balance of getting the one group out of the parking lot and the next group in without totally disrupting downtown traffic each Sunday. I was blessed with a wonderful congregation made up of men and women of some forty-five different nationalities. In recent years, I had been taking mission trips to India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Belize, Israel, etc. How had I come so far from the little Filipino barrio where I was born? Only God knows
