Ann Coffee is the author and illustrator of Carrot Top, the Island Cat. Her favorite place in California is Balboa Island. She was inspired to write this story on her many walks around this magical paradise of dogs, cats, and kids. It is about a cat who wishes only to belong to a family, to be adopted, and his adventure of finding the right one.Ann believes in kid-heroes like her character Tommy Rocket. She hopes that all kids everywhere experience the love for animals and from animals during their youth. Ann presently lives part time in both Texas and California.
