Surveys the role of faith within Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and undertakes an analysis of faith, belief, belief systems and the act of believing. Brings into focus four ways in which beliefs can be employed (expressive, interpretative, formative and referential/relational), and examines how monotheistic belief functions meaningfully in each.
Faith orientates us towards transcendence; monotheistic belief supplies a lived environment for faith's exploration and embodiment.
