Marlene Laruelle is research professor, director of the Central Asia Program, and associate director of the Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (IERES) at the Elliott School of International Affairs of George Washington University. Tim Epkenhans is professor of Islamic studies at the University of Freiburg. Brent Hierman is an associate professor in the Department of International Studies and Political Science at Virginia Military Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science with a minor in Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University. Prior to earning his Ph.D., he served in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan. Brent has published some of his research in Eurasian politics in journals such as Europe-Asia Studies, Journal of Peasant Studies, Problems of Post-Communism, andNationalities Papers. Some of the courses that he regularly teaches include Post-Soviet Politics, Central Asian Politics, and Authoritarianism. Kirill Nourzhanov is senior lecturer at the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Australian National University. |
