John Stuart Mill was an English economist and one of the most influential thinkers of his time. He has greatly influenced the development of social sciences, political science, and economics. He is considered the most important English philosopher of the 19th century. Mill followed in the footsteps of his mentor, Jeremy Bentham, and was a staunch promoter of individual liberty and limiting State power.
